Who was Jo Vialls? The late Otho Jewell Vialls (he died in 2005 aged 61) was a Western Australia private investigator and prolific conspiracy scribe, especially when it came to the Port Arthur Massacre.
Vialls believed that Martin Bryant was a patsy - that he did not shoot 32 people in the Broad Arrow Cafe on April 28, 1996, but was used as a decoy by the person(s) who did.
His book, Deadly Deception at Port Arthur, details his widely panned theory that there was more than one shooter, and that the incident was staged to pave the way for the introduction of tougher gun laws in Australia.
In 2001, One Nation leader Pauline Hanson caused controversy when she hinted at a conspiracy by calling for a full investigation into the Port Arthur Massacre.
